One training session to rule them all
Where?
We come to you to provide a personalised puppy training or dog obedience training experience tailored to your family and living circumstances.
Why?
All dogs are individuals. Every dog is unique. This is why one-on-one obedience training specific to your dog can never be replaced with group classes that assume a one size fits all approach. Dale tailors training sessions to specific breed traits and each dog's individual personality.
With all the conflicting information out there dog owners are often left overwhelmed, confused and misguided. A clicker and some treats may work temporarily, but in the long run it is crucial to ensure you are building the respect and the connection between you and your dog.
An in-home session also means you benefit from valuable advice on backyard safety, apartment living, kids safety, cats, older family members, stairs, no-go zones, toileting, sleeping arrangements, and numerous other factors that are informed by your household and living situation.
What we do?
Dale will spend from 90 mins to 2 hours with you to resolve any issues and concerns you may have including toilet training, biting, jumping, barking, walking, separation anxiety, basic commands, and more.
Beyond any specific issues that need to be addressed, we believe it is important we also provide you with holistic advice. This means we cover everything from A-Z including what your dog is eating, where they are sleeping, toileting, backyard safety, walking, etc.
*Duration depends on complexity and individual goals.
If you are a new puppy owner or planning to add a puppy to the family, we are specialists in puppyhood and adolescent training and will ensure your family experiences a seamless transition to life with your new family member.
Why?
A new puppy is a magical time but can involve some teething issues adjusting to life together. Nights of puppy crying with no sleep, multiple accidents and destructive behaviour can be minimised.
Starting early with good practices will help prevent potential issues such as separation anxiety, toileting trouble, biting etc.
Many folks tolerate undesirable behaviour from their puppy and then suddenly the puppy is an adult and the same behaviour is no longer accepted. We need to clearly communicate early on to our puppies what we expect of them and what is acceptable to you.
Plan ahead and book a session before your puppy has the chance to develop bad habits and to ensure your home is puppy-proof.
When?
We recommend you book a lesson anytime from as early as 8 weeks of age to ensure you are prepared and able to enjoy this exciting period.
We make sure to provide you with all the essential knowledge to get started on the right foot and avoid any future problems.
You may opt for a further training session when your dog reaches 5 - 6 months of age to address pulling and reactivity on walks which is a common issue especially for larger breeds.
This training cannot be carried out until your dog reaches adolescence and is able to understand heel and stay training.
This will leave you enjoying every single walk together, sitting nicely at cafes, and reaping the benefits of having a sociable dog.
